My story

Baking has been my passion since high school

Growing up, I always loved to bake. In high school, I took a baking class and fell in love the instant I put on my apron. While I initially just baked for my family and friends, I quickly realized that it was the act of sharing my baked goods that truly fueled my love of baking. It was the holiday season family gatherings and the birthday celebrations that motivated me to further explore my baking passion.

In 2013, I founded D-Licious in the Northern Virginia area to expand my ability to share the gift of cakes and treats and share my love with a broader audience. Along the way, my life had its own journey, and throughout the different turns, my priorities. From supporting my daughter as she grew into a Division 1 and All-American collegiate basketball player to advancing my career in education and spearheading an annual Black History Month luncheon at the high school, where I work, D-Licious sometimes took a backseat, but throughout this journey, I knew that I always wanted to continue to share the gift of cakes and treats and expand my ability to put a smile on people’s faces.
